Michael P. Webster

Founder and Chief Technical Officer

Mike has over twenty years of control systems experience. He started his career with Westinghouse as a sales engineer focused on industrial applications for solar-energy After leaving Westinghouse, Mike was a sales engineer for Trane, a world leader in air conditioning systems, where he engineered solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers (such as Rohm & Haas, Philadelphia Museum of Art, school districts, and municipal authorities).

In 1988, Mike started Webster Controls, developing integrated control systems to efficiently manage environmental (heating and cooling) systems for his customers. As the deregulated energy market emerged, Mike formed ICETEC in 2000 to support his customers in managing their sizable energy purchasing budgets in a more cost effective manner coupled with risk reduction methodology.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University.

David M. Ferro

Vice President of Business Development
ICETEC Energy Services, Inc.

Mr. Ferro has over a decade of extensive experience within the energy sector, including a complete understanding of all aspects of pricing operations in the natural gas, electric and oil markets. He has a comprehensive understanding of Renewable-Energy Certificate (RECS), Voluntary Emission Reduction (VERS), and Independent System Operators (ISO) programs, development of energy management programs, retail deal structuring, hedging in the physical and financial markets as well as carbon calculations and fuel efficiency strategies.

After earning a B.S. from The Ohio State University where he majored in mathematics, Mr. Ferro began his career in the energy management field as a logistics analyst. He subsequently held a position involving transportation and storage services for a gas transmission company and, since 2001 until joining ICETEC in 2008, Mr. Ferro held a variety of positions with Hess Corporation, one of the world’s leading independent energy companies. He began his tenure at Hess as a natural gas scheduler and rose to become the Manager of Natural Gas Operations. He was subsequently promoted to BTU Brand Manager and eventually was named Manager of Hess’s National Accounts Sales Group. Today he is the VP of Business Development with ICETEC Energy Services.

Barry N. Shrut

Chief Financial Officer

Barry has over 25 years of experience in financial and business operations. Along with a broad base of financial management skills (including controllership, fraud review, risk assessment, and performance management), he has implemented financial systems (including ERP) and drives improved business processes through a Lean Six Sigma approach.

After college internships with PECO and Cornell University Libraries, Barry began his career as a programmer with DuPont. He then shifted his focus to financial systems in consulting roles with Andersen Consulting and Sunoco. He has worked with a variety of public and private companies (non-profits and industrials), with a recent focus on pharmaceutical services.

Barry is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA licensed in PA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA designation from AICPA). His academic training is in engineering: Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Cornell University and Masters of Engineering in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Cornell University.

Mike Conway

Director of Engineering

Prior to joining ICETEC Energy Services, Mike was the Global Energy Commodity Manager at United Technologies Corporation where he was responsible for global energy auditing and conservation efforts as well as energy procurement strategy. Mike has over 20 years of end use operations and engineering experience in the pharmaceutical and aerospace sectors. Originally employed by Bristol-Myers Squibb Company for 18 years, he held positions in maintenance and operations, capital project management, and utilities. Mike personally managed many successful energy projects including diesel generation peak shaving, cogeneration, chiller installations, and plant automation upgrades. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering as well as an MBA.
