THE ICETEC ADVANTAGE

A Proven Way to Save

ICETEC partners with clients in a shared savings model where ICETEC accepts or shares the market risk, and leverages the client’s physical assets in the marketplace.

ICETEC clients are ideally those that can benefit from active load management. With ICETEC technology and market transparency, these clients realize the full benefit of their physical plant investments.

ICETEC uses client data, market conditions, and the proprietary ICETEC Volatility Index (VIX) to establish a plan for operation based on our real time load modeling. A client’s model is updated as the market and client loads change.

In addition to the 24-hour plan, which is updated every 5 minutes, a 7 and 10-day plan is also established every hour. Execution of the plan may be accomplished by direct supervisory control of the client’s process systems or by notification systems built into client HMI applications. Execution of the operating plan provides a predictive and adaptive buy low – sell high approach to load control that generates all the power required by the client and simultaneously generates significant savings.

Costs & ROI

ICETEC applications have a proven track record of increasing plant efficiency. In some applications, efficiency gains from the ICETEC system have resulted in a consumption reduction of 15% or more, while maintaining all temperature, business and operating rules.

The costs of our installed hardware and software are usually recovered in three to six months—and for our clients with fuel diversity assets, there are no upfront costs at all. We install all the required controls, which are then paid off through a percentage of the savings ICETEC generates for our clients.

All our clients are insulated from process costs; they simply share in the savings. ICETEC is compensated with a smaller percentage of the savings once our initial investment in installation, hardware, and software is recovered.

Initially we share 50/50 in the savings generated by our approach, and then the percentage is reduced to the negotiated structure and additional savings are kept on the client side.

Working together to optimize the process and savings becomes the combined incentive for both ICETEC and our clients. Quite simply, the more we save, the more we both succeed.

Implementation Integration

ICETEC provides the client with an on-site server installation. The servers provided run all database, Internet services, and applications (operating plans and custom analysis programs) necessary to provide the ICETEC services. The system, which is provided and maintained without additional cost, allows the client to view and control the process through a website provided by ICETEC.

The client receives the benefit of both the energy savings and a process SCADA and control interface. Shared benefit is based upon guaranteed or non-guaranteed options. The client may run multiple instances of these applications without additional cost.

ICETEC software can interface with any existing process or control system to obtain system data. We have successfully integrated with numerous OEM systems and products including:
